World Unshattered

World Unshattered

By Jessica Ittel

The glittering tears scatter her room and fracture into many faces from the picture frame she just threw. From the carpet, the vacuum collects the shards while the girl's venom clenched heart is a hateful charge. For the world seems to never be calm from the life she screams at from the top of her lungs.

Though, it's not the broken picture frame that should give her pause, it's the future that it shatters with one rough toss. It's the mirror that seconds ago hung upon the wall, that the picture frame had given loss.

In its place, another shall take. Such it be a certain double-sided mirror shrouding secrets that will soon collect her tears. For every mirror reflects on our translucent fears, ceaseless with its ever-winding gears. It is never the end that one shall fear, but rather the extensions of a once forgotten mirror.
