A Sheep In Wolf's Clothing
By Hannah Parker
A sheep in wolf's clothing
Hiding vulnerabilities
Prey posed as predator
Blowing smoke to hide fragilities
The dangers of life may be gone
Physical harms all forgot
But is this whole ruse worth it
And if so, at what cost
A remorseful killer
Ravaging on all of your kind
Doused with red sticky blood
Murdering others to keep your self alive
You stand in the middle
Dead sheep slumped all around
All sheep that you slaughtered
Slaughtered to preserve your own ground
A poser among men
Struggling to keep up the trick
A loner among yourself
Tortured beneath your grueling shtick
The wolf’s pelt you are wearing is heavy
Your guilt pulling on you like a weight
Conflict is riddled inside of you
And you can’t seem to find your own fate
For you cannot live
If you're lying to yourself
A sheep as a wolf
Leaving your emotions withheld
Is your only purpose to survive
or should a sheep have a life
It's alright to be the prey
But when is the right time to hide
